How INFJs and Empaths Copy Lucky People

Let’s talk about luck—not as a fleeting force that some people just stumble into, but as a frequency you can tune into.

Because what if luck isn’t just about chance?
What if it’s about perception, preparation, and the courage to ask for what you want?

In this post, I’m going to break down the psychology of luck through the lens of personality type—especially for those of us who are INFJs, empaths, intuitives, or gentle rebels navigating a world that doesn’t always speak our language.

🍀 The Subtle Science of Luck

Here’s what science tells us: your brain can only consciously process about 50 bits of information per second… out of the 20 billion bits your body is actually taking in.

That means you're always looking at life through a keyhole.
And where you point that keyhole—what you choose to notice—matters.

This is where confirmation bias kicks in: if you constantly focus on what’s not working, your mind will filter reality to reflect that. But when you begin to intentionally look for synchronicity, meaning, or potential—even amidst pain—you open the door to a different experience.

🧠 Personality & Perception: Why Some People Feel Luckier

People high in extroverted intuition (like ENTPs and ENFPs) naturally scan for possibility and are quick to act when opportunities arise.
INFJs and other introverted intuitives, on the other hand, are deep processors. We tend to hang back, gather data, and wait for alignment—which means we sometimes miss those in-the-moment leaps that “lucky” people seem to take.

But here’s the key: it’s not about changing your wiring. It’s about becoming more aware of how your wiring affects your experience of opportunity—and consciously choosing to direct your focus toward potential.

🌌 Synchronicity vs. Serendipity

Both can feel like magic, but they’re different:

  • Synchronicity is personally significant. It’s that uncanny moment when a song, symbol, or conversation feels like a cosmic wink just for you.

  • Serendipity is luck by chance—unexpected discoveries that come when you're open and exploring.

Want more of both? Start looking for them. Ask the universe for signs. Get playful with your magical thinking. Your subconscious is always listening.

💥 Luck, Failure, and the Bronze Medal Mindset

Did you know Olympic bronze medalists are statistically happier than silver medalists?

That’s because bronze medalists focus on how close they came to getting nothing—while silver medalists focus on how close they came to gold.

The lesson? Perspective creates luck.

You don’t have to gaslight yourself into positivity—but choosing to see failure as feedback, or hardship as initiation, can completely change how lucky you feel (which changes how lucky you are).

🧭 Tips to Cultivate a Lucky Mindset (Especially for Empaths & INFJs)

  • Practice asking for what you want. Your voice matters. Luck favors the bold.

  • Celebrate your wins. Don’t move the goalpost without honoring how far you’ve come.

  • Take chances on yourself—not just other people. Empaths often bet on everyone but themselves.

  • Surround yourself with people who stretch your comfort zone. Borrow some extrovert energy, even if you’re not one.

  • Create room for happy accidents. Let go of control. Leave space for magic.

  • Stop feeding the story that you’re unlucky. Begin gathering evidence for your luck instead.

🔮 A Thought Experiment

Think of a time when something “bad” happened.
Was there anything good that came from it?

Now think of something you’re struggling with.
What would have to happen for it to become one of the best things that ever happened to you?

🧘‍♀️ Luck is an Energy Field

Lucky people:

  • Don’t dwell on mistakes

  • Avoid self-deprecation

  • Take responsibility without shame

  • Use their gifts on themselves

  • Live in higher-frequency emotional states like trust, curiosity, and surrender

It’s not about pretending things are fine when they’re not. It’s about choosing to live in a reality where transformation is possible—and then acting like you believe it.

✨ Final Thoughts

Luck is 10% chance and 90% being ready.

It’s not just a force of nature—it’s a lens, a pattern, a relationship with life itself.

So start asking. Start leaping. Start noticing what wants to work for you.

You are not unlucky.
You are just becoming aware of how powerful you really are.
