Awakening The Body for INFJs and Empaths
Hey, you badass soul. Thanks for being here.
Today, we're diving into a topic that most healing journeys overlook until much later — reconnecting to your body as a sacred vessel.
If you're an empath, a deep feeler, or just someone who’s spent a lot of time living "up there" in your intuition, you might feel disconnected from your body. It’s not your fault. At some point, you had to leave — survival demanded it. You floated up into the higher chakras, into the mind, into intuition, into the crown. And while it made you wise beyond words, it also made your body feel like a foreign, heavy thing... something you had to drag around rather than something you could trust.
But your body?
Your body is an intuitive antenna — and it knows things your mind could never grasp.
Why We Leave the Body
Most of us leave our bodies for very good reasons.
Maybe it happened during puberty when your body changed before you were ready.
Maybe it happened because of trauma, pain, betrayal, or feeling unsafe in your own skin.
In our society, there's little reverence for the body's wisdom. Puberty is treated as awkward. Trauma is treated with avoidance. Religion, too, can warp our relationships with our physical selves, turning them into sources of shame instead of awe.
No wonder so many of us live from the neck up.
Overthinking = Underfeeling
When you're stuck overthinking, it’s a sign:
You're underfeeling.
You're disconnected from your body.
If you find yourself analyzing, spiraling, second-guessing — it’s not because you're broken. It's because you haven't been taught how to trust your gut, your instincts, your body's primal knowing.
When you reconnect with your body, intuition becomes automatic, embodied, and clear — not something you have to overanalyze or "figure out."
Your Body Speaks (Are You Listening?)
Your body constantly gives you signals about what’s right, what’s wrong, what needs healing, and where you're thriving.
Here’s how:
When you're unsafe → racing heart, stomach knots, hair standing up
When you're safe → relaxed breath, grounded peace
When you're lying to yourself → heaviness in the chest
When you're aligned → electric joy, cellular YES
When you're overwhelmed → exhaustion, dissociation
The body speaks in sensations, not words. Learning to listen to these signals is one of the most powerful ways to reclaim your inner authority.
Healing Through Reconnection
At first, reconnecting to your body might feel hard.
It might even feel like your body resents you.
(And honestly? If you've spent years ignoring it, repressing it, or numbing it — it kinda does.)
Healing is about rebuilding trust.
Think of your body as a separate soul, one that's been waiting for you to come back.
Ask it: How can I be a better friend to you?
Start small: Notice sensations. Feel emotions physically. Send gratitude to parts of you that hurt.
Remember: your body holds not just your memories, but your ancestors’ too. Through epigenetics, trauma and resilience are passed down through bloodlines. Healing yourself is healing them, too.
Masculine vs. Feminine Body Clues
Even the side of your body where issues show up can tell you something:
Left side (feminine energy): Creativity, nurturing, being
Right side (masculine energy): Action, doing, structure
If your left side hurts, maybe your feminine energy needs healing.
If your right side aches, maybe your masculine energy needs balancing.
The body keeps score — and it also keeps wisdom.
Your Homework: Heal with Art
Want to start reconnecting today? Here's a simple, powerful practice:
Draw a rough outline of your body (stick figures are fine!)
Mark the areas where you feel pain, tension, or old injuries
Over those areas, draw symbols of healing — colors, hearts, light, whatever feels right to you
This is a form of art therapy that lets your subconscious begin speaking in a language deeper than words.
Final Thoughts
Your body is not your enemy.
It’s your greatest ally.
It’s your map.
It’s your guide.
It’s time to come home.
